Born into a political family, a daughter, a sister, and later a mother, I have lived a life of privilege and comfort. But I always knew that one day a greater calling will lead me to a greater purpose. So, I started a journey to be intentional in my actions.
My father and forefathers dedicated their lives for the advancement of marginalized people in society. When I visited my native land, Barisal, after almost 27 years, I saw people still lacking the basic necessities of life. A strong urge to be there for my people came over me. I started this foundation because it is both a responsibility and a honor to carry on the legacy of my father and forefathers who channeled their philanthropic aspirations through people and politics.
Human connections, and the potential it carries when we are able to bond and unite as one human race inspires me. Charts and numbers may show our impact, but the real story is almost always within the smiles, the hugs, and the love which we feel and which is felt by those who graciously allowed us into their lives.
We are building our organization on the pillars of diversity, accountability, honesty, trust, and compassion. Every aspect of our performance exemplifies these values. We hope to partner with you in our shared belief in humanity.
