The Name & The Spirit

Why 'Banglar Bagh'?

"Banglar Bagh" — the Tiger of Bengal — was the honorary title bestowed upon Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Huq, a statesman, barrister, and champion of the oppressed. His fierce advocacy for farmers, his fight against colonial exploitation, and his unwavering commitment to the rights of ordinary people defined an era.

At Banglar Bagh Foundation, we draw our strength from his legacy. Like the tiger that defends its territory, we stand guard over the rights of the marginalized — the elderly, women, children, and climate-vulnerable families. Our name is a promise: we will protect, empower, and roar for justice.

"The tiger does not rest until its prey is secured. We shall not rest until every Bengali has dignity."

Guiding Light

The Ideals We Uphold

A.K. Fazlul Huq's principles continue to shape our mission and approach.

Champion of Farmers

His historic Tenancy Act of 1938 liberated Bengali peasants from oppressive zamindari systems — a testament to grassroots empowerment.

Education for All

As Education Minister, he laid the foundation for universal education, believing knowledge is the greatest equalizer.

Unwavering Voice

He never hesitated to speak truth to power, a trait we emulate in advocating for human rights and social justice.

Carrying the Torch Forward

The foundation’s founders grew up listening to stories of A.K. Fazlul Huq’s courage. His vision of a just, self-reliant Bangladesh is the cornerstone of every project we undertake — from "2 Takay Surokkha" that protects women's dignity, to "Moner Baksho" that cares for the elderly. We are not just an NGO; we are keepers of a legacy.
